English teacher Marc Kenney has been the Advisor of The Hawkeye since 2009. As Advisor, Kenney, "has the opportunity to work with an incredibly diligent and open-minded group of students who inspire me each day- except when we are near deadline when I get to tell them how bad they are." Our newspaper, created monthly, covers topics taking place both inside and outside the halls of Newtown High School. These articles are written to inform, to educate, and to raise awareness about a wide array of issues. Beyond this, staff members keep our layout visually appealing and fresh. Many of our former students have even gone to pursue Journalism careers in college and beyond.
