The Student Job Market
Despite the desire to work during high school, many young people often find it challenging to find a job. Having a job has become an expectation of teenagers. It used to be a struggle to balance school and work, but it is just as much of a problem finding a job willing to hire a teenager at all. Students who are especially good at time management are the most responsible and the most likely to be looking for a job. The application process, no matter the age, is sometimes an u

NHS College Decisions
Around this time of the year you’ve probably heard one or two people ask you the notorious question, “Where are you going to college?” or “What do you plan to do with the rest of your life?” Even for juniors or other underclassmen, everyone hears this at some point, be it from family, teachers, or even some sort of project. Sure, it’s fun to draw yourself being a superhero back when we were in elementary school, but the question becomes more repetitive as you get older.Just

Newtown High School, like many other high schools in the United States, often pushes students toward four year college programs when some might be better off pursuing other paths. Other paths may include trade schools, community colleges, or pursuing the military. “I feel like someone may not consider going to college and instead going straight to the army because they might want to serve on active duty, and have very little time to pursue a college education,” NHS junior G
