The residents of Jamaica, and other Caribbean islands,  are dealing with the deaths and damages made by Hurricane Melissa which hit the island on October 28th, 2025. Newtown High School, like many other high schools in the United States, often pushes students toward four year college programs when some might be better off pursuing other paths.
