D4vd Alleged Murder Investigation

While police enforcement claim there is no evidence at this time that

suggests singer David Anthony Burke (d4vd) killed Celeste Rivas

Hernandez, a police investigation began after the missing teen's body

was found in the trunk of his abandoned Tesla in September 2025 which

began speculations in the media that he may have been involved. As of

October, authorities have not named d4vd as a suspect, and no criminal

charges have been filed.

The situation has blown up online because of the strange and

disturbing details, including their age difference being five years.

D4vd was twenty years old, while Celeste Rivas Hernandez was 14 when

her body was found. Even though police haven’t said he did anything

criminal, it was an illegal relationship and people on social media

have connected clues going back years.

"I hate that he may have killed her because I loved his music. He

definitely killed her though, the amount of evidence against him is

insane. I don’t understand how the police are saying he is innocent,

how is that even possible,” NHS senior Jack Mendez said.

Back in 2022, the first signs that d4vd and Celeste might have known

each other showed up on Discord. That same year, he recorded his hit

song, “Romantic Homicide.” The lyrics were dark, with lines like, “in

the back of my mind you died and I didn’t even cry…” and “in the back

of my mind I killed you and I didn’t even regret it.”

The music video also shows a girl in a white dress with a stab wound

in her stomach. At the time it just seemed like a dramatic video, but

after the case came out, people started re-watching it and connecting

it to Celeste.

In 2023, the rumors kept building, a leaked track called “Celeste_Demo

unfin” got shared and in the song called, “Celeste” the lyrics say “Oh

Celeste, the girl with my name tattooed on her chest,” and “I hear her

voice each time I take a breath,” along with the lines about smelling

her on his clothes like cigarettes and looking gorgeous in a dress. He

also wrote about missing her and feeling depressed, which got people

wondering when exactly he made this song and why.

Things got even more serious in 2024. In April of that year, Celeste

Rivas Hernandez was reported missing in Lake Elsinore, California. She

was only 13 when she disappeared. Her mother told TMZ that Celeste was

dating someone named David before she went missing. Fans also said

that Celeste and d4vd both had matching tattoos on their fingers that

both said “Sshhh…” Investigators later said Celeste had fake IDs and

was pretending to be 19, which is what d4vd’s friends said they

believed.

In early September, workers at a Hollywood tow yard found human

remains in the front of a trunk of an abandoned Tesla. The body was

badly decomposed and was later confirmed to be Celeste Rivas

Hernandez. The Tesla had been sitting abandoned for weeks in the

Hollywood Hills before being towed, and the car was registered to

d4vd. As of early October, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner

still hasn’t figured out a cause of death and police said that it was

unclear whether there is a criminal culpability beyond the concealment

of her body.

Even though the LAPD said he’s cooperating and that he’s not a suspect

or person of interest, people are still suspicious. Friends of the

singer told TMZ that they thought Celeste was 19 and that she and d4vd

were romantically involved. Online, fans started digging for

everything they could find, and things got so intense that his

subreddit was locked after people said posts were deleted about the

situation.

A video interview of him also started recirculating, where he talked

about a manga he made involving a murderous alter ego. That clip made

people even more suspicious because they thought he might’ve hinted at

things through his art, like in the song “One More Dance” it shows him

with a blindfold on with blood stains on his shirt dragging a dead

body into a trunk and in the song “My House Is Not A Home” he was

wearing the same shirt with blood stains on it.

"The Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Division (RHD)

has been diligently investigating the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez

over the past several weeks. At this time, we can confirm that Celeste

Rivas Hernandez is deceased, and her body was found in the front trunk

area of a Tesla belonging to David Burke. The vehicle had been parked

at the location from which it was towed for several weeks, so Ms.

Rivas Hernandez may have been deceased for several weeks before the

discovery of her body. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not

yet determined the cause or manner of Ms. Rivas Hernandez's death. As

such, it remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability

beyond the concealment of her body. RHD is thoroughly examining every

aspect of this case to uncover the truth and seek justice for Celeste

Rivas Hernandez and her family. We appreciate the public's patience

and understanding as we continue this investigation. Further updates

will be provided as appropriate, but at this time, we are unable to

answer additional questions," Los Angeles Police Department Homicide

Division said.

After Celeste’s body was found, d4vd cancelled the rest of his tour.

He hasn’t posted or made any public statements since. Even though the

police haven’t charged him with anything and say he isn’t a suspect,

the situation keeps getting more complicated.
