Spring Music 2026

Music for Spring 2026 - and beyond - has been good to us. April 24th brought us Noah Kahan’s new album The Great Divide and Conan Gray’s Wishbone Deluxe. In addition, April 17th gave us Olivia Rodrigo’s single Drop Dead. (My personal favorite of this bunch.) Rodrigo’s album is set to release June 12th. A lesser known artist who is on the rise, Malcolm Todd, has also released two songs this spring with Breathe on March 13th, and I Saw Your Face on April 23rd. There are rumors of his 4th studio album being released in 2026.

I stayed up Thursday night to listen to Conan Gray’s 3 new songs (4 if you count the single he had released a few months earlier,) that were added to his 2025 album Wishbone as a “deluxe.” At first, I wasn’t loving the new songs. But it’s a known fact that the first time you listen to new songs they’re “not good,” because you’re expecting so much. After listening to it again, I loved them. The songs added a different element to the original album, while still keeping the theme. My personal favorites were The Best, the single he released in the beginning of 2026, and Door, a song about metaphorically leaving the door open for someone you love after they are no longer your life.

Funnily enough, Noah Kahan released a song titled Doors in his 4th studio album The Great Divide. This album is his longest yet, and arguably most transparent, with 17 songs on the tracklist. The album has been praised for its gut wrenching lyrics and insight into being a young adult trying to find their way in the world. Now personally, I didn’t love this album. However, I am not quite yet a young adult trying to find my way in the world so I think I can learn to love this album. I do really love the first single that he released for the album, the titular song The Great Divide. The song is about drifting apart from someone you used to be close with and wishing them the best even though you live different lives.

And finally, I would like to talk about Olivia Rodrigo’s single “Drop Dead.” The song is about having a crush, going on a first date, and falling in love. Rodrigo was dating Hollywood actor Louis Partridge for roughly two years before they broke up in December 2025, and the album, titled “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love” is rumored to be about him. Drop Dead confirmed that rumor with the lyric, “Pisces and a Gemini, but I think we might go really nice together.” Rodrigo is a Pisces and Partridge is a Gemini. The album is most likely going to be a story of their relationship, starting with her falling in love with him.

The song is upbeat and catchy, with lyrics that are easy to memorize and stick in your head. I memorized the song and have listened to it over 30 times in one week. Because the song is so good and so well written, I am highly anticipating the release of the entire album. Rodrigo has a good track record of writing songs that are deep and memorable, so I am excited for what she will bring to the table with this album.

Music has always been big in my life, whether it be a music performance or marching band, or the pop artists I’ve grown up with. I am very happy with the music now, and I am excited to see what the future of music will bring!
