Early Voting

75 million ballots have been cast across 47 states just a week before the presidential election. Ballots have been casted in person or by mail during early voting.

The early voting polls indicated that Kamala Harris was significantly leading in the polls. Trump trailed Harris by between 19 and 29 points among those who say they already casted their ballots, according to the polls.

National polls showed that Harris led Trump 62% to 33%; 59% to 40%; and 61% to 36%.

However, people who  casted their ballots ahead of Election Day were faced with numerous challenges in the process. Long lines in Pennsylvania to other voters’ ballots were burned and damaged.

Election officials have already run into problems during early voting. A county in Pennsylvania failed to deliver thousands of mail ballots to voters. Another problem arose in Georgia where the state was found to have wrongly turned away voters before the early voting ballot deadline.

Voters in Doylestown, Pennsylvania  were very time consumed by the means of the early voting process. Voters in Doylestown said they waited more than three hours to get through the line for the purpose of on-demand mail ballot voting.

During the time of early voting the police had suspects of ballot box burnings. An example of this was In Portland, Oregon. Portland police responded to the fire that was started inside a ballot drop box. Oregon's Multnomah County Elections Division said in a statement that three ballots were damaged. "Fire suppressant inside the ballot box protected virtually all ballots," the statement read.

“I'm so hesitant about this only because I've only heard a little bit about the fact that some of them were set on fire but like I don't know much about that beyond them, but i dont think it’s necessarily predictive of the overall trends of voting because of that. My recollection  is that more conservative voters tend to push against early voting especially when it was first presented during the pandemic that we were trying to make voting more accessible to people.” NHS English Wendy LeBarge said.

The police officers didn’t know the motive behind these acts, but the police chiefs knew that these burnings were targeted and they were intentional, the police chiefs were nervous that the person was trying to impact the actual election.

The nation anticipated the outcome days before the election. Increasing calls from conspiracy minded activists to listen or monitor recorded voters among the false apparition of extensive fraud.

“Early voting totals don’t tell us anything about who’s winning, and people should be extremely wary of claims that one side, or the other, is pulling away with this race,” David Becker, who runs the Center for Election Innovation and Research, told CNN.

“I don’t know if I think it’s predictive of overall results. I think from what I've seen reporting wise is that early voters tend to  be more likely to vote for democrat than republican.” Wendy LeBarge said.

This early voting turnout for the second straight presidential election added to the millions of American voters exercising their right to vote.

All this recent data about poles during the early voting has had an historical comparison to the last presidential election in 2020.

As early voting ended, it left many Americans worried about the turnout of the presidential election.
